唢呐考级

2021 is a major milestone for Ray, his PSLE year. 2021 is also the year where MOE changed the scoring system from T-score to AL banding. Supposedly to make them less stress, as it focus on performance of oneself, however the feel I get is 换汤不换药. Still so stressful. Last year I was in blissful ignorance when he scored more than 70 marks for each subject. Very good right?! Turns out his AL score is 17, and with the recently disclosed details of the AL banding, he cannot even get to Tanjong Katong Secondary!! He wants to go Dunman High School and AL is 4-8! OMG, how to skip so many grades from 17 to 4?! All the more we need to bang our hopes on DSA. Lucky he loves music and does not mind playing Suo Na for 6 more years, however, I do worry if he can cope in DHS academically.

Anyways, we have to do a lot of things concurrently now, his Suo Na exam grading and his mid year exams. These 2 are critical for his DSA submission. Just a few days ago, his exam pieces far from completed, and we have to set up our room to simulate studio setting etc, a lot of work man. Fast forward to now, we finally managed to submit the recording. Thanks to Daddy who is damn good at set up and recording. I'm so pleased of the end product and so proud of Ray.

Time Flies

I stopped writing for a very LONG time. No time, no energy, and there seems to always be more important things to do. Now that I have my own notebook, decided it's time to start penning down the little things in life again.

Ray is going to be 12 years old. He is a child at heart in a big body. He wears L size shirts, and size 10 shoes. He totally skipped all the junior sizes. I just cannot keep up with his wardrobe changes. > <

This is him wearing my company jacket meant for Daddy. He inherited his Dad's broad shoulders. Think he is going to be a lot taller than me. Super happy that I have another set of broad shoulders to lean on.

Mey is 10 years old this year. Still so skinny. Good news is she passed 24kg! This year she started wearing glasses. Eyesight has not been a problem until suddenly few weeks ago, before the March holidays, she says she has problem seeing things in class. A visit to our optician in Bedok reveals her degree is suddenly 175degress on the right eye. Will have to be careful her eyesight does not deteriorate further.

Love it when she squints her eyes to take a big bite of food. :)
