I like sitting in the tub

Mey is learning to sit and is getting quite good at it. She can sit for a while by herself unsupported already. She is showing signs of protest during bath time, and I realized it's because she does not want to bathe lying down. She has been struggling to get to a sitting position and will want to hold the sides of the tub. My girl is growing up!!!

Potty time

We have been trying to get ray to use the potty for quite a while, but not quite successful, so much so that my helper actually kept the potty away. Recently however, he has been telling us 小便,大便, so I decided to revisit his toilet training. Just yesterday, I told my helper to take out his potty again. Today, he managed to pee in the potty for the first time! So proud of him! Next is to get him to inform us in advance when he wants to shit... :)

危险,抱抱

My son said the most amazing thing today. Grandpa brought him out for a walk and was about to cross the road when my son told him, 危险,抱抱, so my dad carried him across the road. The moment they crossed the road, he said 下来!So clever!! This kid is really amazing! He can remember the things we tell him!!

Mummy is going back to work

Time really flies very fast when you are spending time with the kids. 不知不觉, it's been 12 weeks and I am due to go back to office next Mon. Can't bear to go back to work after spending such quality time with Ray and Mey. Especially Ray, as I have witnessed so much of his progress and growth. He is just so cute at this stage and there seems to be new discoveries about him every other day, new habits, new vocab, new pattern. How I wish I can take a longer break from work, like a year or 2. Oh well, that's just wishful thinking since I am not in the government sector. :( or maybe I will be the winner of toto and I can just throw in the letter! That's a nice dream to hold on to, gotta remember to buy toto diligently!!:)

Baby Mey

Ameyrius has been a wonderful baby! She has been really easy to handle. The second night that she was home, she settled in to the new environment already. I remember it took Ray almost a week before he settled in. She's latching on real well as well. She is now 5kg and is so chubby and cute!! She is also jaundice free!

She does not poo as many times as Ray did, but every time she poos, she poos a lot. Sometimes her poo poo will leak out of the diaper. So far she has chosen to leak the poo every time the bed sheet is newly changed. Lucky we have helper, if not I don't know how we can keep up with the housework. :p

She can also sleep by herself without much rocking. And she does not cry for no reason. I heard of parents complaining before that their babies cry and cry and will not stop. I'm so blessed to have skipped this for both my angels. Thank you Ray and Mey for being such wonderful angels!!

Ray is sick!!

Ray must have gotten the virus from unknown source at Mey's full month celebration and he is having a high fever now! His temp hit 40.5. It's 1am now and I just bathed him and his temp went down to 39.5. Hope it will go down all the way later. Super heartache, can see that he is very uncomfortable. Gave him Ling Yong and 2 MNA just before bed, let's hope these will take effect soon and bring his temp down. Looking forward to a cheeky and active Ray tomorrow morning. Heal yourself my darling boy, Mei Mei waiting for you to start kissing her again...

Ray is a good Gor Gor

Ever since Ameyrius arrival, Ray has continued to be good natured, well behaved and understanding. He has not shown any jealousy at all. The only thing is that he is not used to Mey's cries. Every time she cries, he will wince and start crying too. Lucky for us, this was the initial stage and after 2 weeks of "training", he has grown accustomed to the sounds that Mei Mei makes. Now he will always want to sayang and kiss Mei Mei all the time. :P What a great boy he is!!

The arrival of Mey

My EDD for Ameyrius is 5 Jan 11, but both Seth and I were hoping for her to come out 1 Jan 11. How cool for the birthdate to be 1111! But my Gynae, Dr Pual Tseng will not be around. This is so deja vu, he will be on leave on 31 Dec 10, and we were hoping for 1 Jan baby. Coincidentally, when we had Ray, we were aiming for 25 Jun baby, and he is on leave on 24 Jun onwards. Anyway, he told us he will wait for us till 4am as he will have to be at the airport by 5am. He initially predicted Mey wil come out during the 38th week, same as Ray. I had this hunch too, but the wait continued to 31 Dec, and while we were playing Mahjong past the new year count down, our 1 Jan hope was gone too. So the wait continues and finally on 5 Jan morning, I felt some surges, and again, I can't be sure. I went about the daily routine and at 2am, I finally decided to count the interval between surges, and they are 3min apart and last 1 min. Time to go hospital!!

It was an eventful birth experience. When we reached the hospital, I was already 4cm dilated. Very soon, I was 8cm dilated, but the wait from 8cm to fully dilated was a long wait. When I'm finally fully dilated and ready to push, the midwife tell me the replacement Gynae Dr Tham is engaged in an emergency C-section and will not be able to make it. They will try to call Dr LLC. then they tell me Dr LLC also cannot make it, and will have to call Dr Eunice. Then they come and say she cannot make it and will that Dr Tham will try to make it...While waiting for the confirmation of any doctor at all, I had the urge to push real hard, and the midwife just told me to hang in there and wait till Dr Tham arrive. When he finally arrived, he just looked at me and said you are doing well, just wait for the water bag to burst. With that, he went out on his rounds. Just moments after he left, my water bag exploded. And I mean it really exploded. I literally felt like something exploded and even asked hubby what was that. The water splashed so far out that the floor of the ward was wet. So wet that the midwife actually slipped and fell on her way to get the doctor. I felt so bad and I remember repeatedly saying sorry to her.

Mey is truly a hypnobirthing baby. With the birth of Ray, I suspected if it could ever be done, breathing down your baby, but Ameyrius showed me that it is possible.  I hardly pushed, all I did was gently nudge her down and she progressed along bit by bit and when she finally came out, what a shock we got ! She is huge, 3.87kg, much bigger than me when I was born. I am so proud of us for making this birth so enjoyable!
