Marine Parade Town Day

Brought the kids to the carnival just behind my Mum's block today. Seems like a fun event with many activities planned out. We reached my mum's place at 9ish due to the rain and by the time we got there it was already quite crowded. I went to get a copy of the flyer where coupons for pop corn, cup corn, candy floods were attached since I lost mine. Lucky I managed to get a copy from the town council people cos all these treats were given based on coupons. You won't be able to buy with money. There were free train rides, game stalls, jumping playground and apparently Mey enjoys the train rides cos she sat twice. Can't wait to see their excited faces when we go Genting in Oct!

Truffle fries n changi beach

Was supposed to go home from Ah Mah's house when I suddenly decided to fulfill my truffle fries craving at Coastal Settlement.  Children were sleeping soundly in the car so we were thinking they would probably be up and about by the time we reach Changi from Woodlands. And boy was that a great impromptu decision. The children enjoyed the fries tremendously and they totally enjoyed the retro 'playground'.

After the snack, we decided to explore the beach at Changi. It was a lot less crowded than East Coast Park and the sand was softer and cleaner as well. Mey refused to walk on the sand and only started walking and playing with sand after much cajoling. Ray also showed great improvement on his acceptance of sea waves. He actually dared to walk all the way out and played in the water by himself. A far cry from our last trip to the Bintan beach!  But again he was really young then and could be intimidated by the tidal waves then. While playing with the sand and water, we could also enjoy the view of many aeroplanes flying low. We had so much fun that we are inspired to come back to build sand castles next week fully equipped and fully geared. Sand castle kit, tent, mat, bubbles toy and DSLR. Yeah!!
